Evolis, a global company that specializes in personalization solutions and instant printing systems, has announced the launch of a new Card Lamination Module (CLM) for its Avansia card printer. The CLM is designed to reduce the risk of card fraud and increase the useful life of official identity documents or access control badges.

The Avansia Lamination system combines the Avansia Printer with retransfer technology and the CLM to produce high-quality, secure cards. The retransfer technology enables integral printing and generates optimal image quality with high-resolution security features, such as UV, micro-texts, guilloches, and 2D codes.

This solution meets the specific needs of employee badges personalization, secured control access, student cards, national IDs, driving licenses, and more. The CLM laminates single or double-sided cards and provides durability for up to 10 years, making it ideal for a wide range of applications.

With an Avansia printer equipped with a CLM, various cards can be encoded (magnetic stripe, contact or contactless smart cards), printed using retransfer printing technology, and laminated in a single operation. The printing and lamination modules work in parallel, producing up to 133 printed and laminated single-sided cards per hour or 79 printed and laminated dual-sided cards.

The Avansia Lamination system is designed to print large batches without interruption thanks to its high-capacity card feeder and output hopper (250 cards each) and Evolis High Trust consumables range, which is developed specifically for this kind of impression. The system is also adaptable to all encoding options, including magnetic, contactless, and contactless smart cards, and can print on all types of cards, including those with irregular surfaces.

To prevent any unwanted attempts at use, Avansia Lamination is fitted with an RFID electronic key and is optionally equipped with a mechanical locking system. The CLM module for Avansia simply connects to the Avansia printer to form a single system.

Evolis offers a wide variety of patches and varnishes, including holograms, and can also develop fully personalized laminates upon request for specific projects.

Philippe Lesellier, Product Manager at Evolis, says, “With Avansia Lamination, Evolis is enriching its catalog with a high-end product which allows us to strengthen our capacity to meet the needs of high-volume markets, particularly in the fields of security, education, and government projects.”
