CARDLOGIX TO PROVIDE SMART CARDS
FOR SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EVENTS

Irvine, Ca. May 17, 2002 -- CardLogix, a leading smart card company, today announced it is supplying smart cards for promoter Omega Events in a series of music festivals for the Southern California area. These events feature premier music acts such as B.B. King, Los Lobos and the Rippingtons The festivals are the Fifth Annual Doheny Blues Festival, the 7th Old Pasadena Jazz Fest, and the 6th Doheny Days Music Festival. The "Event Card" is purchased at admission for a preset value and used throughout the event venue instead of cash. Purchases of food, beverages, and event merchandise are transacted quickly, securely and conveniently with the card. Any amount of value can be purchased and any unused balance is refunded to the purchaser.

CardLogix smart cards work with Omega Events software developed by Smart Systems and Solutions, storing and executing value and identification directly on the smart card, instead of relying on outside credit card processing. On-card processing improves transaction times and security.

The scheduled events are: Doheny Blues Festival on May 18-19 in Dana Point, California, the Old Pasadena Jazz Fest on July 13-14, and the Doheny Days Music Festival on September 14-15.
