Description

Combine the merits of high resolution retransfer printing with the power of a laser engraver to achieve unprecedented security and forgery protection for sensitive government documents and corporate ID cards.

Matica’s LCP9660 color laser personalization system is state-of-the-art. Its innovative color and fiber laser personalization system delivers highly secure, full color, personalized cards in a single pass. It is created by two modules: by connecting the MC660 – a high resolution color retransfer printing module – to the MC-LX, Matica’s third generation desktop laser module. It produces a personalized card that boasts an outstanding 600dpi image and accelerated security standards thanks to the laser process which engraves information into the body of the card.

Scalability of parallel workflow for ID card programs

Advanced protection and accelerated speed are crucial for the effective issuance of highly secure ID cards, whether that’s national ID cards, drivers’ licenses, green cards or voter ID cards.

Projects that require extra protection and efficiency will find what they’re looking for in the parallel workflow of the LCP9600’s card personalization process. Its inline production and modular design shortens the production time of the personalization process without compromising quality or security traits. Then there’s the ease of operation and minimal maintenance, which means reduced training and production costs.

The LCP9660 system is scalable so it can respond to customers’ ever-changing production needs. Knowing that every project is entirely unique, Matica ensures its solutions offer innovative levels of  flexibility. And this state-of-the-art fiber laser and color personalization system is no exception.

Matica’s customers will enjoy the ease of upgrading to the LCP9660, while also securing an excellent return on investment with its scalablity. It doesn’t matter how big or small, or how challenging the size of a project, additional modules will always be available to facilitate an expansion. Adding the MC-L inline lamination module is a perfect example.

Unrivaled Highly Secure Credentials

Issuing cards that are impossible to counterfeit has become the gold standard dream goal over the years. Governments continue to step up their investment in finding ways to combat forgery and this is where the LCP9660 comes into its own.

Its innovative color engraving solution leverages the benefits of advanced visual security features from over-the-edge dye sublimation retransfer technology – essentially, bringing the power of an industrial quality laser engraving machine to a desktop format.

In its first stage, the printing module can increase security levels of the card. Some of the most outstanding visual security element (VSE) features include:

  • Micro-text hidden in the design of the card and are only visible through a magnifying glass
  • Printing data with ultraviolet ribbon so that information becomes visible to the authorities only with the use of a UV light, which is achievable when using YMCKUv ribbon
  • New security ribbon YMCKSc to create an unique watermark design with variable reflecting ink, which increases the number of VSEs on each card.

In its second step, the laser unit embeds personal information into the card’s body which adds extra anti-counterfeit measures. This means that any attempt to manipulate data automatically results in the destruction of the entire document.

It is also possible to laser mark the card to create micro text, CLI and MLI, tactile effects, braille, MRZ, ghost image, Tru/Window Lock or Matica Secure Protected Image (MSPI™). As an optional upgrade, the lamination module can apply a clear or custom holographic foil, providing extra durability and protection for the card.

The LCP9660 offers a solution that offers all sorts of flexibility and importantly, it is also incredibly cost-effective. Its engraving capabilities also ensure excellent performances in quality and accelerated speed on most materials used for standard and special applications, including PC, PETG and ABS.

MC-LX  – Unparalleled Desktop Laser Module

The new, innovative MC-LX desktop laser module has a sophisticated card transport method, which allows the card to tilt in all directions so the laser beam can reach all areas of the card.

A new patent-pending card transportation system called “scratch-free” TRIPODE secures a friction-less transportation during the production. The integrated flip-over and vertical adjustment for “out-of-focus” effects reduces the number of hardware parts making the activation of options virtually installation-free. Unlike former desktop laser module, MC-LX has upgraded without the needs of mirrors or extra hardware part while performing visual security elements such as CLI and MLI.

Features

  • High-performance Master Oscillator Power Amplifier (MOPA) technology
  • Matica Secure Protected Image (MSPI)
  • 10W fiber laser
  • Visual Security Elements (VSE) such as Multiple Laser Images (MLI) and Changeable Laser Images (CLI)
  • 600 x 600 dpi duplex printing and 1600 dpi laser engraving
  • TRIPODE (patent-pending) frictionless card transportation system
  • Able to print invisible UV colors and visible colors simultaneously
  • High definition duplex laser marking
  • High reliability
  • Up to 120 cards per hour
  • Tru/Window™ Lock feature comprises a secondary portrait image known as ‘inverse personalised ghost image’. The cards consist of a transparent window containing a metallic foil integrated into the polycarbonate (PC) card. Based on a sophisticated laser ablation process, the laser forms a secondary portrait in the window
  • Micro-text hidden in the design of the card and are only visible through a magnifying glass
  • Printing data with ultraviolet ribbon so that information becomes visible to the authorities only with the use of a UV light, which is achievable when using YMCKUv ribbon
  • New security ribbon YMCKSc to create an unique watermark design with variable reflecting ink, which increases the number of VSEs on each card
  • Invisible Personal Information (IPI™) technology encodes personal data (name, numbers etc.) in the portrait. IPI™ (by Jura) directly links the photograph both to the document holder and the document. Personal data is invisible to the human eye; the authorized persons can easily verify the authenticity with a dedicated decoding lens
