I²C

I2C EEPROM memory cards have non-volatile memory used that are required to hold small amounts of data within a circuit in a compact package. Non-volatile data is able to be erased and reprogrammed. I2C cards have a defined address and have no ATR like microprocessor smart cards. The two largest manufacturers of I2C memory chips for the smart card industry are Atmel and Microchip.
