The loyalty program was first employed contact smart card technology, and in year 2005, the supermarket started to shift the system to a contactless one. ACS’ ACR120 is used in the new system of the loyalty program. The readers are installed at the customer service centers of each store and there are many cashier counters in the supermarket to input data (like bonus points) and to check record (like cash balance) to/from the contactless cards.

ACS ACR120 Contactless Smart Card ReaderApplying ACR120 to the existing loyalty program is beneficial to both the store retailer and the customers – the transaction time is now greatly shortened when compared to the purchases made with credit cards or cash.
