Fremont, Calif, April 21, 2008 – ActivIdentity® Corporation (NASDAQ: ACTI), a global leader in digital identity assurance, today announced the release of 4TRESS™ Kerberos Agent for Microsoft® IIS , which works in conjunction with the Actividentity 4TRESS AAA Server. With the availability of the 4TRESS™ Kerberos Agent, ActivIdentity builds on its long-standing commitment to enhance security, decrease cost and improve usability by reducing an organization’s dependency on static passwords. This release also extends the ActivIdentity support for the Microsoft product suite.

4TRESS Kerberos Agent eliminates the need for a user to enter his/her windows password in addition to a one-time password (OTP) during the authentication process. By removing the need for users to know their windows password the organization has strengthened the security of its network access by moving from single factor authentication (windows password) to a multi-factor authentication (authentication device + PIN). Additionally, for remote access situations which often involve the use of shared or borrowed laptops, a login process which eliminates the requirement for users to enter their windows password represents a much lower security risk from attacks by keyboard sniffers and other hackers.

The 4TRESS Kerberos Agent increases security, is user friendly and is a cost-effective security component that works with the ActivIdentity Smart Employee ID solution.

“Companies worldwide deploy ActivIdentity’s Smart Employee ID solution to benefit from strong authentication across all systems access.” said Grant Evans CEO of ActivIdentity. “This agent is an integral part of that solution and removes the need for users to know their static windows password when logging into Outlook Web Access using a One Time Password generated by one of our tokens or smartcards.” Evans continued.

ActivIdentity has over 1000 customers who rely on the company for their strong authentication solutions.
