October 23, 2008 — Datastrip Inc., a world-leading provider of field-proven mobile identification and verification technology, has been selected by Tyco International’s Software House to create a mobile solution for the C•CURE 9000 security and event management system. The new C•CURE Mobile integrates Datastrip’s DSVII SC handheld biometric terminal with C•CURE 9000 to expand access control boundaries beyond a facility’s wired infrastructure.

Datastrip’s DSVII-SC provides C•CURE 9000 with a wireless reader that doesn’t need to be tethered to a system to create entry portals anywhere they are required, in a building or at an event. This includes entry points separated from the access control door controller, server or workstation. The DSVII-SC reads access control card formats, including MIFARE, HID Proximity Access Control cards and HID iCLASS cards.

Datastrip DSVII-SC Biometric Handheld with Smart Card Reader

“By integrating Datastrip’s DSVII-SC handheld device with the C•CURE 9000 SDK, we can offer unparalleled flexibility in our access control system design and implementation,” said Peter Boriskin, vice president of research and development for Tyco International’s access control solutions. “With the DSVII-SC, we can now solve ID validation challenges at any temporary or remote checkpoint or access point.”

C•CURE Mobile can ensure security and ID management in the following scenarios:

  • Recording employees/visitors as “in” or “out” of a facility during emergency evacuations
  • Auditing the IDs of riders using employee shuttle buses
  • Recording attendance of off-site meetings.
