Munich, Germany – 09 December 2010 — charismathics announces that it has won a contract to supply its Smart Security Interface to a leading US aerospace and defense technology manufacturer. This direct contract includes the immediate supply of the charismathics Smart Security Interface to almost 200,000 employees and contractors, along with software support and maintenance agreement, professional services and training.
As a leader in the deployment of smart card technology to enhance corporate security, this new customer is currently upgrading its infrastructure to align with the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Federal Information Processing Standard 201 (FIPS 201). This is the standard used by Federal Agencies for the Personal Identity Verification (PIV) cards issued to government employees. In the coming months and years it is likely that most government contractors will upgrade their internal security systems to be PIV-compatible (PIV-c). This represents a significant expansion of the US corporate market sector targeted by charismathics.
Sven Gossel, CEO of charismathics Inc. commented: “We are delighted that this major corporation has selected the charismathics PKI (Public-key infrastructure) product suite for its next generation credentialing system. The comprehensiveness of our solution, its stability and specifically the compatibility towards parallel smart card installations was a convincing argument upon this choice. With this new flagship customer among charismathics worldwide installations, charismathics proves again its outstanding product quality and service. It firmly establishes charismathics as a premier supplier of PIV solutions to the world’s largest and most influential systems integrators, government contractors and federal agencies.”
Further information on charismathics Smart Security Interface.
CSSI, as it is commonly known, is an agnostic PKI middleware; its independence from hardware vendors gives customers the freedom of choice to select a single middleware interface that perfectly interacts with a myriad of devices, and therefore in turn the flexibility to modify the hardware architecture along the project deployment. The incomparable array of smart card operating systems, third party applications and computer platforms CSSI supports encompasses all other solutions combined in the market. And the development activity continues effortlessly.
charismathics Smart Security Interface was the first PKI middleware to achieve compliance with the NIST 800-73-2 standard and is widely deployed to worldwide Fortune 500 companies. In particular, it supports the latest standards applicable for all PIV, PIV-interoperable and PIV-compatible deployments. It is a fully supported commercial off-the-shelf product that can be quickly deployed for thousands or millions of users.
