Global SIM technology provider, Truphone, today announces a partnership with Workz Group, the Dubai-based mobile solutions and serialization software specialist.

The collaboration will see Truphone licence its GSMA-accredited remote SIM provisioning platform and SIM operating system (OS) to Workz Group.

The deal enables Workz to offer its customers state-of-the-art SIM technology – yet unavailable in the rapidly-growing market in the Middle East and Africa – while allowing Truphone to showcase its capabilities to mobile operators in new territories.

Truphone SIM OS software and remote SIM provisioning platform will be integrated with Workz Group’s GSMA-accredited SIM hardware, together creating an unrivalled solution for the next revolution in mobile technology in the Middle East and beyond.

In August this year, Workz became the first GSMA eSIM factory for Africa and the Middle East—guaranteeing that its SIM chips are manufactured to the highest level of security and in compliance to international standards for compatibility.

Workz Group CEO Brad Taylor said:

“Together with Truphone, our eSIM and over the air (OTA) remote provisioning solutions allow our mobile operators to access the latest technology to realise their consumer and IoT device ambitions.
“We have been consistently impressed with Truphone’s innovation, flexibility and commitment to true partnership and we look forward to a productive and prosperous future together.”

Steve Alder, Chief Business Development Officer at Truphone said:

“Workz Group’s impressive customer base of mobile operators, keen to explore the growing eSIM market, provides Truphone with a valuable opportunity to expand our geographical footprint and showcase our technology to customers in the Middle East. Our SIM operating system and remote SIM provisioning platform are trusted and relied upon by a host of device and chipset manufacturers. We are incredibly proud to work with such a reputable business and work together to support more operators in enabling eSIM—driving forward its mainstream adoption.”

“We truly believe that the eSIM revolution will unlock both consumer and IoT devices and that fast-moving mobile operators can capture and capitalise on this shifting market.”

About the Truphone Remote SIM provisioning platform

Complete integration including BSS/OSS, front-end APIs and key components like an Entitlement Server. Generation, management and hosting of operator profiles aligned to GSMA specifications.

About the Truphone eSIM operating system

The Truphone eSIM operating system implements the GSMA eSIM specifications and is interoperable with any GSMA compliant Remote SIM provisioning platform, including but not limited to Truphone’s proprietary GSMA-accredited Remote SIM Provisioning platform. This means that for consumer and M2M devices the Integrated SIM can securely store multiple operator profiles in separate security domains with the necessary telecommunication libraries to support authentication and communication with mobile networks.

The Truphone SIM OS supports the necessary interfaces to support remote provisioning and is aligned to the latest 3GPP, JavaCard, SIMAlliance, ETSI and GSMA specifications.
