Description
The ACS ACR122U SDK provides a comprehensive collection of sample codes for device and contactless card programming using the latest versions of powerful object-oriented programming languages namely, Java, Delphi 7, Visual Basic 6, Visual C++ 6, Visual C++ 2005 (x64), Visual C# 2005 and Visual Basic .Net 2005. The extensive set of development tools and reference materials in the SDK allows one to use the ACR122U/ T for RFID-based solutions, such as e-payment, access control, personal identity verification, mass transit and toll road fare collection. With this complete ACR122 NFC Card Reader Software Development Kit, users can optimize the use of ACR122U/T for their contactless and NFC applications.
Peer-to-Peer Capability – As an additional SDK feature, ACS provides users with the option to experience a simulation of a real-world NFC peer-to-peer application – Smart Poster application. Two ACR122U/T NFC readers are needed for the peer-to-peer demo since one ACR122U/T acts as the smart card poster and the other one as the NFC device. The demo shows the capability of these two devices to exchange data via the peer-to-peer operating mode.
ACR122U Card Reader
The ACR122U NFC reader is the world’s first NFC reader compliant with the CCID specification. The ACR122U and its token version, ACR122T, are designed to support not only Mifare® and ISO 14443 Type A and B cards, but also FeliCa and NFC tags.
The ACR122 is a popular desktop USB contactless smartcard reader/writer in a convenient and trendy light-weight case. It includes support for ISO 14443 A/B as well as ISO 18092 transponders including the M.O.S.T. Card®, Java Card, MIFARE® Classic, MIFARE Ultralight, DESFire, FeliCa, ACOS3, ACOS5, ACOS6 and NFC Forum tag types 1 through 4 (not NFC Type 5 which is ISO15693) in all 3 NFC modes (reader, card emulation, and peer-to-peer).
The ACR122U with V2 firmware and an internal buzzer as well as a bi-color (red/green) LED which can be programmed to respond when a card or tag is in field or being read/written. It is fully PC/SC and CCID compliant, resulting in easy plug-and-play installation on Windows PCs, while support for Mac OS X and Linux is also provided. Containing the PN532 controller chip from NXP, the ACR122 is also supported by various open source libraries such as libnfc (org page).
The ACR122U comes with an optional stand to hold the smart card reader at an optimal angle, so that users can tap contactless cards or NFC-enabled devices onto the ACR122U with ease. For more information, click here to download the brochure of this special accessory.
