Reliable, High Speed Fingerprint Capture
Futronic FS80 is equipped with multiple features to enhance fingerprint capture reliability, providing virtually undistorted raw fingerprint images into a PC at a high speed of 100ms per image.
With Futronic FS80, problematic fingers, such as those that are wet, blurred or dry, can be reliably scanned. The fingerprint scanner is illuminated by 4 infrared LEDs, and the light intensity is automatically adjusted according to the fingerprint’s characteristics to optimize fingerprint image quality for a variety of skin types.
Rugged Fingerprint Sensor
FS80 features a durable, practically indestructible sensor made from crown glass with a thickness of 14mm. The unit is designed to handle rugged environments, such as in-the-field military identification, while offering an extended product lifespan for your biometric solution.
Live Finger Detection (LFD) to Detect Artificial Fingerprints
Futronic FS80 ensures that only living human tissue is enrolled and authenticated with the Live Finger Detection (LFD). This patent-pending technology was developed by Futronic Technology Co. Ltd. to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive data or valuable assets by the use of fraudulent, artificial fingerprints made from silicone, rubber, play-doh, and other materials. LFD is performed by a special electronic circuit built into the reader. The signal is emitted underneath the human skin with a unique algorithm to differentiate the returned signal of live human finger from that of other material. The LFD feature is included in all Futronic’s standard software.
Futronic FS80 Software Compatibility
Futronic FS80 has a USB 2.0 plug and play compatible interface. The Futronic FS80 fingerprint scanner 2.0 driver supports Android, Windows 2000, XP, and Vista, CE 5.0 and 6.0, and Mac OS.
FS80 is pre-configured to work with RAVEN™ Biometric Enrollment and Verification Software by Corvus Integration, Inc. In addition, FS80 will soon be configured to work with FastCheck™ Smart Card Biometric Verification and Enrollment Software by CardLogix Corporation.
For custom applications, FS80 can be developed with fingerprint recognition software development kits (SDKs) provided by Futronic Technology to create fingerprint matching software solutions capable of performing biometric verification, identification, and enrollment functions.

FS81H OEM Module
FS81H is OEM module of FS80H for customers who want to integrate FS80H into their own products, such as handheld
