The SecuGen Hamster Pro Trio is a 3-in-1 device intended for a wide variety of applications from national ID to employee identification, logical access, physical access control, immigration processing, patient and healthcare provider identification, and remote work.

The Hamster Pro Trio is suitable for any smart card application where multi-factor authentication (MFA) is needed for higher security without sacrificing convenience. The Trio features the industry’s most accurate, rugged, and affordable USB fingerprint reader to give you what the SecuGen brand is known for, the highest quality in fingerprint biometrics.

The Hamster Pro Trio combines SecuGen’s HU20-A fingerprint sensor with both a Identiv uTrust 2100R contact smart card reader and A.B. Circle CIM315F-01 contactless smart card reader. Featuring a compact, ergonomic design, the Hamster Pro Trio is built with the industry’s most rugged and advanced optical sensor using patented and patent-pending fingerprint technology. The high image quality fingerprint reader is FBI Certified as meeting FIPS 201 (PIV) and Mobile ID FAP 20 requirements.

The Hamster Pro Trio works with the Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC), Department of Defense Common Access Card Next Generation (DoD CAC NG), and the U.S. Federal Information Processing Standard 201 (PIV). The device is comparable in size and weight to the Hamster Pro Duo SC/PIV, despite the addition of a contactless card reader.

For Developers

SecuGen provides free SDKs that support the fingerprint reader in Hamster Pro Trio for Windows, Linux, and Android applications. All SecuGen SDKs include the tools that enable fingerprint registration, matching, and related biometric functions. Request a free SDK at

Suitable for FIPS 201 (PIV) applications but applicable to many other biometric card applications, the Hamster Pro Trio gives extra flexibility by being capable of accepting a wider range of smart cards, from contact type to contactless. This versatility makes the Hamster Pro Trio ideal for a broad range of smart card applications, such as national ID programs, physical access control (PACS), Personal Identity Verification (PIV), and remote work, where multi-factor authentication is needed for higher security without sacrificing convenience.

Benefits of using SecuGen fingerprint scanners

For a growing variety of applications in point-of-sale, time and attendance, access control systems, and physical and information security. SecuGen fingerprint scanners offer consistent performance and safety. In addition, they are backed by the industry’s best warranty, have been used in the field for years, and have proven to be durable under extreme conditions. When utilized as a part of an entire security program, SecuGen fingerprint readers may alleviate the burden of memorizing too many passwords, reduce the risk of security breaches, raise responsibility, and provide true non-repudiation in a method that is simple and natural for nearly any user. In all instances, SecuGen’s cutting-edge biometric fingerprint technology may be utilized in place of traditional passwords. Another significant benefit of adopting the SecuGen fingerprint is that it may be used for eGovernment software projects. It is also ideal for complete biometric turnkey projects. Kindly contact us if you want to learn more about how SecuGen fingerprint scanners operate.

SecuGen sensors are very accurate thanks to an ultracompact, patented optic design that produces high quality
images for greater precision, less false rejections/false acceptances, and better overall performance compared to
competing fingerprint sensors.

Unlike semiconductor-based sensors and other optical sensors, SecuGen sensors are made with hardened glass that
needs no coatings or special protection. SecuGen sensors resist scratches, ESD, corrosion, and other stresses and can
be easily wiped clean without fear of damage.

With a virtually indestructible sensor prism, the SecuGen sensor is extremely rugged. SecuGen sensors are designed
to be strong for dependable and consistent scanning even outdoors and under harsh or high traffic environments.

SecuGen designs, develops, and manufactures its own fingerprint sensors that are built to last and deliver solid
performance for years, making SecuGen sensors the most cost effective choice.
