Moversa’s U-SAM supports two of the most widely installed contactless smart card technologies in the world, NXP’s MIFARE™ and Sony’s FeliCa™. In addition, the Mobile World Congress demo will feature Proxama’s mobile wallet and MasterCard PayPass™ payment application.
Proxama’s founder and CEO Neil Garner said: “We have been working with mobile payments and NFC since the early days and it is great to be part of the first demonstration of this key bridge between existing contactless specifications and services. Integrating contactless platforms – such as MIFARE and FeliCa – has the potential to speed up the adoption of mobile payments and other applications.”
Moversa president Guus Frericks said: “In our MWC 2009 showcase we are demonstrating the potential of the Universal Secure Access Module (U-SAM) featuring Proxama’s mobile wallet in a payment application. We are pleased to work with Proxama to enable an enhanced user experience for contactless services which can be accessed with NFC-enabled handsets regardless of protocols and operating systems.”
