Multi-Modal Biometrics

The system supports left and right irises (simultaneous or single capture), full frontal face, all 10 fingerprints, and electronic signatures. Other biometric modalities can be added upon request. Biometric templates are stored in the smart card chip for optimal security, privacy, and portability.

Biometric and Demographic Enrollment

We work with leading biometric companies, such as Corvus Integration, Fulcrum Biometrics, and EyeDentifed, for a wide range of enrollment options in any environment. From mobile and remote enrollment to desktop and inline options, we can deliver the right solution for your needs.

Microprocessor Smart Cards

Store user biometrics, biographical information, and keys in highly secure, microprocessor smart card chips. Available in contact, contactless, or dual interfaces, the microprocessor chip (Secure Element), enables the optimal protection of user data and live identity verification from any location. The system supports CardLogix’ M.O.S.T. Card® Operating System, a high security and cost-effective smart card family designed for multi-function converged credentials, protected data, secure transactions, and biometrics. CardLogix’ M.O.S.T. Toolz SDK allows programmers to create their own applications with ease. CardLogix can also adapt the solution for Java Cards, MIFARE, DESFire EV1 / EV2, and other popular card technologies.

Smart Card Encoding and Issuance Software

Card Encoding Engine® (CEE) by CardLogix is a smart card personalization, encoding, and printing software solution. Unlike other ID Card Printer Software, Card Encoding Engine is specially designed to encode contact and contactless microprocessor smart cards without requiring custom APIs, scripts, or user programming. Built for seamless connectivity with CardLogix’ M.O.S.T. OS platform, several 3rd party biometric solutions, and card printers/encoders, users can personalize and encode variable and fixed information to smart card-based ID cards within minutes.

ID Card Printers and Encoders

The system currently supports Evolis, Matica, and Zebra card printers with encoders. The solution can be adapted to other card printer solutions upon request.

Instant Identity Verification and Biometric Matching

Verify users’ identity in the field with compatible desktop or mobile software applications that leverage live, 1:1 biometric matching. Live biometric matching compares a newly captured biometric image, such as a fingerprint, against the biometric template stored in the cardholder’s smart ID card chip. FastCheck by CardLogix, for ID card validation and mobile or desktop identity verification, is among the many options available with our system.

Why Smart Cards with Biometrics?

  • More Secure. Unlike a centralized cloud-hosted database, the trusted silicon microprocessor chip (Secure Element) is both tamper-proof and hacker-proof. Cardholder biometrics are safely stored and protected by a sophisticated smart card operating system.
  • Stronger Authentication. Multi-Factor Authentication (what you have, what you know, and what you are), is surpassed with in-chip biometrics that bind the cardholder to his or her credential. Digital authentication also ensures that all devices are vetted before authorizing communication exchanges.
  • Any Location. Live 1:1 biometric matching and identity verification, whereby a live capture is compared against the biometric template in the chip, can occur from any location. Because the biometric data is stored in the smart card chip, the application does not need to connect to the internet or to a local network to verify identity.
  • Privacy. By storing the cardholder’s biometric data in his or her own smart card chip, the individual does not need to worry about the information being shared across a large central network, which is significantly more vulnerable to hackers. Advanced safeguards within the chip ensure that sensitive biometric data stays safe and not revealed to unauthorized parties.
