Description

The SDI011 Product Overview

The SDI011 dual interface smart card reader combines contact and contactless interface capabilities to support the growing demand for badging and other personal identification applications utilizing contactless smart cards. The combination of technologies in one reader makes it possible to integrate a number of conventional single-purpose card applications into one card. For example, the same card and reader can be used for both building access (physically touching the card to the reader) and network access (inserting the card into the reader and entering a password).  As with most SCM readers the SDI011 is in-field upgradeable firmware that makes this module a secure and future-proof investment providing both flexibility and fast time to market for new products and applications as well as minimum risk linked to technology standards evolution. This reader is PC/SC and CCID compliant with downloadable driver support for Windows 2000 onwards which ensures a seamless integration to the contactless world for existing contact applications. The SDI011 is based on ISO 7816 for the contact interface and on ISO 14443 A & B at 13.56 MHz supporting type A and B compliant contactless smart cards in a convenient desktop unit.

The SDI011 is widely used for applications such as public transport, badging stations, e-Banking, checking the balance of your e-Purse, as well as for e-Passport personalization and verification.

The SDI011  is compatible with MIFARE, CaC, PIV, CIV, Java Card and all T=0/1 & T=CL smart cards.

The SDIO11 replaces the obsolete SCM SDI010
